How to move your concerns forward
Experiencing pain or concerned about how your workstation is setup? Worried about job hazards?
You can take steps to get relief and seek resolutions. See the following list and the related links below it.
- Contact your supervisor. This is always the first thing you should do. It’s likely that a supervisor can get the issue resolved quickest of all.
- Contact your chapter steward. If your supervisor is unresponsive, talk to a steward or chapter leader to see what steps you can take to get the issue resolved. Sometimes, the issue is forwarded to the agency joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Contact your local BWC office. The Bureau of Workers Compensation employs ergonomics specialists who assess workstations. If there are safety issues with your workspace, they will issue a report to your supervisor detailing risk factors and recommendations. Call 800-644-6292 (OHIO-BWC) to find an office in your area or use the online locator by zip.
- Contact PERRP. Ohio’s Public Employment Risk Reduction Program offers “no fee, no risk”on-site safety inspections. For an on-site consultation, call 800-282 1425 or email webmaster@perrp.com.state.oh.us
