May 9, 2008 - Front line workers and managers from across the state gathered yesterday at the Ohio Expo Center for Team Up ODOT. This year's event marked the 10th anniversary.

Sponsored in partnership by OCSEA and Ohio Department of Transportation, Team Up ODOT gives the agency's districts the opportunity to share their experiences with other state employee. It's also an opportunity to recognize workers for their quality efforts and innovations from the past year.

OCSEA President Eddie L. Parks encouraged members in these challenging economic times, "...we need to be creative and we need to look at improving the way we get the job done. Every one of us can be a contributor to making a positive difference."

ODOT employees turn out in huge numbers to support Quality

- As many as 300 ODOT employees packed the lower level central office auditorium to attend a recent meeting of the Statewide Quality Steering Committee. Bargaining unit staff and managers from every ODOT district packed the room to hear presentations on successful Quality initiatives and to hear remarks about how Quality will be transitioned to the new administration. Union hosts Pathways to Excellence event

- In a celebration of quality, state employees from all over Ohio converged on the OCSEA Union Hall Thursday for the Pathways to Excellence event. The quality conference, which occurs several times a year, was sponsored by the Ohio Quality Network (OQN), a labor-management quality advocacy group. National certification training helps members improve facilitation skills
June 2, 2006
- A group of state employees from several agencies recently participated in a week-long training to prepare to become certified facilitators. “They were always willing to try new things,” Trainer Richard Smith observed. “One thing about working with public servants – they chose to be public servants and want to make a difference.  They are more selfless.” FULL STORY

Ohio Partnership for Excellence recognizes ODOT employees
2006 - The Ohio Partnership for Excellence (OPE), the state's premier quality award program, announces that Riverside Methodist Hospitals, located in Columbus, Ohio, has received the Governor's Award for Excellence for being an “outstanding example of excellence in the state of Ohio, and for exhibiting "world class" processes that serve as role models for others." Quality event draws crowd
July 25, 2005
- For the first time, OCSEA hosted a Pathways to Excellence event at the union headquarters. OCSEA rolled out the red carpet to state employees Tuesday, July 19. OCSEA Executive Director Andy Douglas and keynote speaker Dr. Robert L. Lawson spoke opened the conference.
