Representation

To identify your local leadership, browse the MyContacts page for a customized list of your stewards, subordinate body officers, and staff representatives.

If you need help with a contract enforcement issue, please contact your local steward, chapter president, and / or your staff representative. In the event that you cannot reach one of the above in an urgent or time-sensitive situation, contact OCSEA customer service at 888-OCSEA-11 or email for assistance.

Listings are also available for the board of directors, stewards, and officers of all chapters, assemblies, and district councils as well as stewards.

Your vote equals representation and a voice in the union. When OCSEA and the state and local governments gather for contract negotiations, all negotiated benefits are subject to change. The people that you elect to represent you will vote to preserve your interests through the negotiation process.

Your votes impact contracts, union policies, and chapter activities:

  • Members elect their local chapter officers to represent them in the workplace and also can participate in chapter level activities
  • Members elect the state board of directors to set overall policy for the union
  • Members vote on their contract

Your vote can impact negotiated benefits:

  • Legal, Dental, Vision, Supplemental Life, and Working Solutions benefit programs through Union Benefits Trust (UBT)

In addition to all of the non-negotiated and negotiated benefits, there is one other benefit that you alone elect to receive—that is the benefit of a voice in the workplace. When you, and others with whom you work—are members of OCSEA, you create a strong voice in the workplace.

OCSEA members have a voice Pension Fund Oversight through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS)

Additionally, your voice is strengthened even more through OCSEA’s affiliation with the AFL-CIO and AFSCME.
